Overview
La novel·la entrellaça dues històries d’amor que passen en dos temps diferents. La primera l’any 1993 quan l’Eduard, un professor de cant que es veu obligat a deixar la seva carrera, descobreix l’Anna, una noia tartamuda que neteja al Liceu, però que té una veu increïble. L’Eduard sent que l’Anna li podria retornar l’emoció dels escenaris. La segona història està relacionada amb uns quaderns que guarda la Irina, la mare de l’Eduard, on s’amaga un terrible secret de família relacionat amb el seu marit. En el món dels cafés i la Rambla del segle XIX coneixerem la lluita entre “liceistes” i “creuats”; aquesta rivalitat portarà el Ricard, un “liceista”, a enganyar la Teresa, que treballa a la sastreria del Gran Teatre. Aquest engany portarà greus conseqüències.
